HTHF - Youth Association

Purpose 

The purpose of this association is to create a community where our youth work together for meaningful and impactful community causes, volunteer in cultural events & fundraisers, and learn new skills! 

In the process, they make new friends, learn to work together, and cultivate a sense of giving

Focus areas 

1. Community Service -
   • Volunteering in various projects to serve and help the underprivileged  We have several ongoing volunteering projects currently going on. 
   • Few examples - Sandwich drives to serve the Downtown Women’s Center (This activity is currently funded by TCCOP organization)
   • Volunteering at the Senior Center
     • The committee along with the mentors is continuously planning new activities like the following - Hygiene Kits for the homeless, Clothes drive, Holiday Toy Drive, etc
2. Cultural Events - 
   • Volunteering at temple events. Helping out in different cultural events like Baisakhi, Janmashtami, Dandiya & Garba, Diwali, etc.
3. Temple Fundraising - 
   • Volunteering at temple events. Helping out in different cultural events like Baisakhi, Janmashtami, Dandiya & Garba, Diwali, etc.
4. Temple Maintenance - 
   • Volunteering for temple maintenance. 

Along with the areas above, we have ongoing team building events and activities like picnics, etc.

Note -  Committee will be rotated annually. The goal is to give many responsible youths the opportunity to develop leadership skills.

Adult / Parent Mentors and guides -

We are always looking for additional adult mentors and volunteers.

• Currently we have 25+ youth participants. Only kids in 6th - 12th grade may currently join (We will explore opening up for younger children in the future)
